Capital
Segovia is a city whose ancient roots date from Celt Iberian, Roman and German settlements, as some zoomorphic sculptures, the Aqueduct and Visigothic necropolis show.
Some historians think that Segovia was abandoned after being invaded by the Muslims. In the eleventh century it was repopulated by Christians from the North of Spain, leaded by King Alfonso the Sixth´ s son in law, Raimundo de Borgoña and by Pedro de Agén, who will be the first bishop of Segovian diocese.
